Director of Fund Services

About AngelList

Private markets are the new public markets. The most important companies of this era are private, and almost no one can own them. What's missing is the financial system public markets spent a century building: exchanges, custodians, brokers, and ways for ordinary people to buy in. Private markets, now $28T, never had the equivalent. AngelList is building it.

The last decade of structural innovation in venture happened here: syndicates, SPVs at scale, Rolling Funds, scout programs. Today we have $200B+ in assets and 30,000+ startups funded on our platform. The rest of private markets is next. Funds is the software and services behind private funds, Nova is the banking network, Meridian is the wealth platform for accredited investors, and USVC is the brand behind a registered fund that lets anyone invest in venture.

Working here means an unusual amount of agency on a problem that matters. Titles are closer to suggestions, and there are about 200 of us building what private markets never had. Come build it with us.

About the role

Lead Belltower’s Fund Services organization as we expand our institutional offering and bring more automation into daily operations.

This is an opportunity to transform fund administration at the intersection of AI and private markets. You’ll lead Belltower’s Fund Services organization as we expand our institutional offering and redesign how the work gets done. Working with Product and Engineering, you’ll help determine where AI can take on more of the work, where expert judgment matters most, and how both come together to deliver better service.

You will own delivery quality, controls, client experience, and team performance. You will lead experienced managers across onshore and offshore teams and work closely with Product and Engineering.

This is a hands-on leadership role, and success means: improving how the work gets done while keeping clients well served.

You will:

• Lead operational changes to make AI tooling work in practice: team responsibilities, controls, training, and measures of success.
• Develop managers, set clear accountability, and build the service capabilities needed for larger clients.
• Improve delivery times and productivity.
• Resolve root causes of errors and prevent repeat incidents.
• Use operational evidence to prioritize workflow changes and safe, useful automation with Product and Engineering.
• Keep the client’s experience at the center of operational decisions.

You may be a good fit if you:

• Have built and scaled complex operations with financial, legal, tax, or compliance consequences.
• Are excited by the opportunity to reshape a complex service business with AI.
• Can explain the scale you managed and the results you delivered.
• Have led managers through meaningful change.
• Combine sound risk judgment with strong client instincts and practical technology experience.
• Have built or run strong control environments: preventive and detective controls, clear ownership, and evidence that holds up to audit.
• Can learn a complex domain quickly while working through experienced managers.

Fund administration experience is valuable, but we are open to adjacent backgrounds with a clear record of learning quickly. A CPA is not required.
