AngelList is building the financial system for the private markets: fund management & accounting, banking, rollups, cap tables, and USVC. Private markets are where the defining companies of this era start, grow, and scale. Our products make private markets accessible to everyone, from fund managers and institutional investors to the general public. (1)
Today, we're announcing the acquisition of Ark PES (“Ark”) to expand the AngelList financial system to all fund administrators in private markets. Ark is a fund management software platform serving administrators like Standish Management, MeritageAG, and Kranz Consulting, who in turn use Ark to serve more than 500 venture capital and private equity firms, with over $185B in assets on platform. In the coming months, Ark's customers will benefit from AngelList’s infrastructure across fund accounting, banking, and cap tables.
From Bill Ward, CEO of Ark: “For almost a decade, Ark has been built around the belief that fund administrators and GPs deserve software that works the way they do. Now, that work gets a lot bigger. Joining AngelList allows us to accelerate that mission. Our customers will gain access to a broader platform, deeper product investment, and integrated banking and payments capabilities that can meaningfully improve how funds are administered and serviced. Together, Ark and AngelList will offer a more complete set of features that weren't possible within a single platform.”
From Vidhi Kanoongo, CFO and Private Capital Practice Lead at Kranz Consulting: “We're excited to see Ark and AngelList come together to create a more integrated platform for venture fund managers. The combination of fund administration technology, banking, and AI represents a meaningful step forward for the industry. Together with Kranz's deep operational expertise, we're helping clients benefit from a more connected, efficient, and scalable operating model as they grow.”
We expect customers to benefit from the combined platform in the following ways.
AI-native workflows integrated across the fund management lifecycle
Ark's software combined with AngelList's infrastructure enables us to build AI-native workflows across LP onboarding, portfolio monitoring, and reporting in ways that weren't previously possible within one platform. The manual work that still defines too much of the fund administration processes is our priority, and this combination is intended to put us ahead of where any standalone platform in the market is today.
Banking built for private markets, coming to Ark
AngelList's banking and payments network has more than 150,000 accredited investors, including high-net-worth individuals and institutions, already holding accounts. Capital calls, distributions, and subscriptions that used to take days of manual wires now clear in minutes. This network is built on over 10 years of fund operations and banking relationships with tier-one partners. With the combined offering, Ark's fund administrators and their clients will now be able to access these same rails.
Bottom line, for fund administrators, this means they can now better meet the evolving needs of their clients while delivering improved service and higher margins. For fund managers, this means more seamless interactions with their fund’s workflows and data through their agent tool of choice, delivering a better experience for their LPs.
