Tell us about yourself.
I went to school at the University of Southern California where I studied International Relations and Entrepreneurship. While in school, I founded a media and event planning company working with small artists in the local Los Angeles community. Before joining AngelList, I interned at Bloomberg as a member of the product analytics and sales team.
Outside of work, I enjoy creating art, exploring archival fashion, and spending time with my cats, Theo and Midge.
What attracted you to AngelList?
All of my professional experiences have been in the fintech industry, specifically focused on customer success. I found that AngelList's mission resonated with me, and believed their products offer something unique to the VC space and to founders. I wanted to use my prior experience and learn my way around a space that I was unfamiliar with, and the VCA role was a great fit.
Describe the associate role.
Getting a front row seat into the ecosystem behind venture capital.
How did your previous role prepare you for the associate role?
My role at Bloomberg taught me how to operate in a highly cross-functional environment. I was working directly with customers, and balancing that with communicating with our internal teams about customer and product needs. This experience correlated directly with what the day to day looks like in the associate role.
What have you learned about venture capital through the associate role?
As an associate, you really get an inside look at the 'plumbing' of the venture capital world. You get to dive headfirst into the more obfuscated elements of venture, such as legal, tax, banking, etc., which is an experience that is extremely unique to the Customer Relations associate role.
What has helped you become successful in the associate role?
Adaptability is key. Because the associate role is changing and growing with the company, it is important that we maintain flexibility and an ability to navigate ambiguous circumstances.
What do you hope to accomplish at AngelList?
I am excited to get more familiar with the VC space as I spend more time in this role. I hope to build lasting relationships, both with GPs and with my teammates -- AngelList has definitely created an environment where that's possible.
What advice do you have for associate applicants?
Get familiar with AngelList's product offerings and ask lots of questions! Venture can be an elusive space, so be prepared to have to learn a lot very quickly.
