Today, we're introducing a new initiative for AngelList team members to angel invest and become founders: Funders & Founders.
Funders
AngelList will fund up to $100k per team member for investments they source via a new fund anchored by capital from AngelList. Anyone working at the company will get the opportunity to earn a share of profits from promising investments they identify. The investment is subject to approval by an investment partner.
AngelList expects to invest $10k on average into each deal sourced. The team member, in turn, can earn 20% of profits from that investment.
If the investment is not approved, the investment partner will provide a detailed reason to help the team member build their investing knowledge.
Founders
If a team member starts a company after leaving AngelList, we’ll invest up to $100k to help them build the business, subject to approval by an investment partner.
